Captains log: The Deal

Once we found the local dealer of TR0091 gas everything went smoothly. 14 containers of gas measured, tested for quality i was able to receive the best price possible at that time which is a bit under 200 000 credits per container. Sent the credits to my secure wallet and clearly in a good mood headed to the ship.
"By now the crew should have resupplied our water and food stocks" i thought to myself while the ships main door was closing with a quiet hissing. Turned out my crew didn't disappoint me this time except the fact that some food came as blueprints and not in a solid form. Since it's easier for the cargo ships to carry a printer or two instead of loads of solid food, we sometimes prefer blueprints that can be printed out as real food later. I myself prefer real food, even though the printed food tastes almost the same as the real thing. Just a preference, maybe i'm supersticious, who knows?
Our engineer got a good deal on a new lucid dream machine that allows you to easily enter the dream state and then play as a character in a video game in that dream state. It connects your brain to the video game and induces the lucid dream state by manipulating with brainwave frequencies but you get much better results by using a psychedelic named DTQ420 with it, which helps with the visuals and the overall experience in being much more colorful and almost indistinguishable from the waking reality. That will definitely be interesting to test out and experiment with- we'll see how that goes.

Captains log: Unexpected escape from the Monkeys' Testicle Nebula

".........full gear ahead!" Was the last order i managed to give before i passed out from the explosion in one of our gas containers - a common enough occurrence that might usually happen to freelance cargo ship owners like myself who rely on used gas containers and somewhat outdated gathering and storing equipment. Lucky enough it was the last container and our mechanics team was able to disconnect it from the rest of the containers and most importantly- our ship.
After the explosion and the imminent escape from the Monkeys' Testicle Nebula i woke up feeling a bit dizzy and lightheaded but thanks to our doctor and his medicine i recovered quickly and in a days time was ready to resume my duties as usual.
Although we had lost one cargo container worth about 200 000 credits the remaining 14 containers were intact and ready to be trasported to a remote area of Solar system no 19. to a  planet which name i can't reveal here for the obvious reasons. Not many know about this place and those few who do don't want to talk about it that much.  It's the kind of place where you want to get in, do your business with the locals, reload the cargo, get some food supplies and water and then get the hell out. No sightseeing, no chit chat. Keep your eyes open and mouth shut and you'll be fine. That kind of place. You can't find this planet with ordinary equipment, like radars produced by certified producers won't detect it - you have to tweak them. The planet owners use a fairly complex alien technology to basically stealth the planet from radars and such. So it's like a firewall that protects your computer and if you want to access that computer or in our case a planet, then you need to know which frequency range to scan for and which "ports" you need to look for to be able to navigate safely to a planets range and then identify yourself, ask for permission to enter the airspace, get a landing permit- all the usual stuff.

Most of the planet is a barren desert landscape with huge canyons and a lot of sandstorms, forming the dunes and then destroying these the next day or perhaps next week- nothing stays the same here.
It's owners use this barren desert as a hidden marketplace where most of the  unregulated commodities are bought and sold and traded.

Captains log: unknown territory

21.09.2015, Unknown location, navigation devices are showing different data and working randomly. Might be that is related to the fact that there might be a small pulsar nearby, fucking around with my ships electronics.

So here i am, second day in this hazy galaxy, mainly consisting of new emerging stars, no planets yet, probably. Last time the navigation devices made any sense i was 7 light years away from a cluster of pulsars and that was like 2 cosmic days ago, so i might as well be floating between several of those fuckers. Luckily my ship is equipped with a fairly reliable shielding mechanism from the Solar System no. 9- they produce really cheap and reliable ones with the nanotechnology layers combined with the energetic force field to better protect against the pulsars radiation.
Could as well be that me and my crew have to float here for a few cosmic weeks before the systems get stabile enough to start navigating towards our main target. The target is located near the center of the Monkeys' Testicle Nebula in the 5-th sector of the Shadow Valley Galaxy. As the captain of this ship and the leader of this wonderful crew i'm obligated to keep a tight eye on things while we're passing the potential pulsars because these things can be relatively random at times and further delay our arrival to the destination.
Besides the randomly acting electronics i've also noticed a strange behaviour of one of our crew members, Moldrin. He seems to be occupied with someting, like his mind is occupied with some problem or a riddle that he desperately tries to solve but never seems to really find the real answer that would fit all the assumptions and theories and logic, and make... sense if you will...
Our main engireer, Adrin (who's a big dopehead, but a wonderful and excellent at engineering- so i keep him in the crew) seems to know something about. So i decided to ask Adrin what it's all about, what is it that makes Moldrin seemingly so far away and in his own little bubble. Adrin, engineer and master of his craft, gave me an insight into Moldrins mind, into his brain cells and neurons, where millions of switches turn on and off on a daily basis. As Adrin spends most of his time giving advice to our navigators and mechanics and updates the ships systems as necessary he had noticed that Moldrin, while not on his shift, spends time playing multitable tournaments at PokerStars (a poker room back on earth, our birthplace and home). As a gambling man myself i don't mind a little gamble here and there, even on this ship, but keeping it separated from work. Moldrin clearly needs to get his act together and stop worrying about all these situations at the tables. "Thank you, Adrin for your insight", i said and gave our engineer a task to put some sense to Moldrins head.
That out of the way i suddenly realised that if Moldrin plays multitable tournaments @PokerStars then he might use our electric circuitry for the galactic internet in his cabin (as his cabin is not connected to the main network by default) and that might just be the reason why the devices have been failing for days now!! God damn, Moldrin! Might as well be that we were floating around the Monkeys' Testicle Nebula without knowing it!!! What a relief would that be if that's true.
Ok, sent our mechanic to investigate into this matter and obviously the circuitry thing was used for the internet and Moldrin fucked us over with his gambling habit, leaving us floating in space, clueless of our actual location or surroundings. What a dick!
Oh, well. At least i can start mining the TR0091 gas from the Monkeys' Testicle Nebula pretty soon and our estimation is that it shouldn't take longer than two weeks to fill the containers. After that we'll head to the Solar System no 11 to cash it in for a nice profit.
